After 29 years in the ISP industry, my mission is to make broadband easier to understand from the inside out. I focus on the U.S. side of the market at FindCheapBroadband, translating complex topics like peering, routing, exchange points, fiber, wireless networks, and ISP operations into practical guidance that helps readers make more informed decisions.

My Expertise & Approach

I bring decades of hands-on ISP experience, deep technical knowledge, and real operational perspective to every broadband review and analysis.

  • 29 Years In ISPs: I have worked across the Internet Service Provider industry for nearly three decades, with practical experience in how broadband networks are built, run, and scaled.
  • Deep Technical Expertise: My core specialisms include ISP consulting, BGP routing, RPKI, IRR, Internet exchanges, and peering, along with broader experience in routing, switching, MikroTik, Cambium, 5G, and network operations.
  • Hands-On Broadband Experience: Over the course of my career, I have started and managed dial-up, wireless, cable, and fiber ISPs, giving me direct experience across the technologies that power broadband services.
  • Real-World Perspective: My work is grounded in actual network operations, not just theory, which helps me explain broadband in a way that is both technically accurate and useful to readers.

Alongside my operational and consulting work, I have stayed active in the wider broadband and networking community for years.

  • MidWest-IX Founding Member: I am a founding member of MidWest-IX in Indianapolis, a distributed Internet exchange created to connect metro markets more effectively.
  • CEO of MTIN.NET LLC: I lead MTIN.NET LLC, a vendor-neutral consulting firm specializing in ISP and enterprise markets.
  • Consulting Across The Industry: Through MTIN, I have worked with network operators on data center services, bandwidth, hosting, and consulting solutions.
  • Broader Project Involvement: I have also been involved in initiatives and organizations including The Brothers WISP, the National Broadband CO-OP, Nexstream, On-Ramp Indiana, and Internet Communications Inc.
