Can I Keep My NTLworld Email Address?

@NTLWORLD.COM • VIRGIN MEDIA • JUNARA • KEEPING YOUR EXISTING ADDRESS

YES — EXISTING ADDRESSES CAN BE KEPT

Your NTLworld address can stay the same, but Virgin Media will no longer host the mailbox

If you already have an @ntlworld.com email address, Virgin Media says you can keep it by moving the mailbox to Junara.

You do not get a new Junara address and you do not have to change the address people use to email you. The main change is behind the scenes: Junara becomes the company running the mailbox and email platform.

What actually changes?

BEFORE TRANSFER yourname@ntlworld.com Mailbox hosted through Virgin Media.
AFTER TRANSFER yourname@ntlworld.com Same address, mailbox hosted by Junara.
WHAT STAYS
  • Your existing @ntlworld.com email address.
  • The ability for people to send mail to that address.
  • Your existing mailbox if you complete the transfer successfully.
WHAT CHANGES
  • Junara becomes the email-service provider.
  • Transferred users access Junara webmail and support.
  • The mailbox becomes a Junara subscription service rather than a Virgin Media-hosted mailbox.

Virgin Media’s current help pages specifically include ntlworld alongside Blueyonder and virgin.net, and state that once a mailbox has transferred, users can sign in through Junara’s webmail.

Can current and former Virgin Media customers both keep NTLworld email?

CURRENT VIRGIN MEDIA CUSTOMER
Yes — if you complete the Junara transfer Virgin Media says current broadband, landline or TV customers are offered an introductory free period, subject to the transfer terms.
FORMER VIRGIN MEDIA CUSTOMER
Yes — but on a standard Junara plan Virgin Media says former customers can also keep the existing email service by signing up to Junara’s standard plan.

If you want the exact current costs and billing rules, see our separate Junara email pricing guide. This page is focused on whether the NTLworld address itself can be retained.

What you need to do to keep the address

Wait for Virgin Media’s transfer instructions Virgin Media is contacting affected mailbox users in phases rather than moving every account on the same day.
Use the transfer route provided for your mailbox Junara says sign-up is currently available to users who have received an offer through their existing service provider.
Complete the Junara registration before your final deadline Once registration and transfer are complete, the same NTLworld address is hosted on Junara instead.

If you do nothing, the address is not guaranteed to stay available indefinitely. Virgin Media says affected customers receive at least 45 days to act, followed by an additional recovery period before permanent deletion. For the full timetable, see our Virgin Media email closing guide.

You can also leave NTLworld behind completely

Keeping the old address is optional. Virgin Media also allows customers to download their email data and move to another provider such as Gmail or Outlook instead of transferring the mailbox to Junara.

The bottom line

Yes, you can keep an existing NTLworld email address. To do that, you need to move the mailbox to Junara when Virgin Media gives you the transfer option. Your @ntlworld.com address stays the same; the company running the mailbox changes.

NTLworld email FAQs

Will my @ntlworld.com email address itself change when it moves to Junara?

No. Virgin Media says customers who move their mailbox to Junara can keep their existing Virgin Media email address. The provider hosting the mailbox changes, but the address itself remains the same.

Can I still keep an NTLworld address if I no longer have Virgin Media broadband?

Yes. Former Virgin Media customers can keep an existing Virgin Media email account through Junara, but Virgin Media says they need to sign up to a standard Junara plan rather than receiving the current-customer introductory free period.
