We created FindCheapBroadband.com to cut through that noise. Our mission is not just to show you prices, but to empower you with genuine, deeply researched, and easy-to-understand insights so you can make a confident decision.

Our recommendations are the result of a proprietary, exhaustive research system we call the Dynamic Trust Score. This isn't a simple "best-of" list. It's an adaptive, data-driven framework that evaluates providers from every conceivable angle. We have personally invested hundreds of hours into compiling and analysing the data for every ISP, ensuring that the score you see is a true reflection of the service you will receive.

At the heart of the Dynamic Trust Score is a meticulous analysis of over 50 distinct factors for every single provider. To truly understand an ISP, you must dissect its entire operation. We group these metrics into six foundational pillars, which form the DNA of every rating on our site.

  • Consumer Champion Verdicts: Ratings from organisations like Which?.
  • User Review Platforms: Aggregated scores from large-scale platforms like Trustpilot.
  • Industry Awards & Recognition: Accolades from recognised industry bodies.

This data was personally compiled and normalised into a 10-point score by the FindCheapBroadband.com team. All data is accurate as of 19th August 2025.


Our Core Innovation: Context-Aware Rankings

A single "best" ISP doesn't exist. The best provider for a hardcore gamer is different from the best provider for a large family on a budget. This is where our methodology truly serves you. Instead of using one static score for every page, we dynamically re-weigh our 50+ data points to create a tailored recommendation for the specific page you are viewing.

Crucially, this means our recommended order is based purely on what makes genuine sense for each user, not on who gives us the most commission.

On each page, we clearly show how we calculated the scores and which weighting profile was used. This ensures every page provides an accurate, logical, and context-aware rating.

Performance focuses on reliable speeds for lectures, cloud apps, and streaming; features like basic parental controls and easy self-install help.

How this ensures transparency: this approach lets us judge the best deal for each customer without bias. Commission, CPA, payout rates, and margins are not used anywhere in the scoring model—providers cannot buy a higher rank. Every score is computed for what’s best for the customer.

Why this method is unique — and truly customer-first

  • Use-case weights, not margins: Each page discloses its weight split so priorities match the reader’s intent (gaming, streaming, students, business, etc.). Affiliate economics never influence weights or outcomes.
  • Transparent, reproducible math: Scores come from published inputs (e.g., promo vs standard price, TCO over contract term, setup fees, mid-contract rises, latency/jitter, SLAs, features) combined with the weights shown above. Anyone can trace how a rank was produced.
  • No pay-to-play—ever: Providers cannot purchase placement in ranked lists. Ads or sponsorships (if any) are kept separate and clearly labelled.
  • Consistent across our sites: This customer-first, use-case-weighted framework powers all of our comparison platforms under FindCheapEverything LTD (e.g., broadband, VPNs). Signals differ by category, but the principles never change.

Our overall score is a weighted average of the six pillar scores. This ensures that the most critical aspects of an ISP's service have the biggest impact on its final rating. Here’s how it works using one of our top-rated providers, Zen Internet, as an example.

The Formula: (Perf. × 0.35) + (Value × 0.25) + (Exp. × 0.15) + (Avail. × 0.10) + (Feat. × 0.05) + (Rep. × 0.10) = Final Score

Zen Internet (UK) Calculation:

  • (9.2 × 0.35) = 3.22 points from Performance
  • (8.1 × 0.25) = 2.025 points from Value
  • (9.8 × 0.15) = 1.47 points from Experience
  • (9.5 × 0.10) = 0.95 points from Availability
