Cuckoo Broadband Sold to Onestream: What Customers Need to Know
CUSTOMER UPDATE: MAY 2026
UPDATE: 14 MAY 2026
Cuckoo Broadband customers are moving to Onestream. Cuckoo has stopped taking new broadband customers after agreeing the transfer of its customer base to Onestream.
New Cuckoo sales ended from 4pm on 11 May 2026. Existing customers are expected to keep receiving broadband during the migration period.
Your physical broadband connection is expected to continue running through APFN’s Aquila wholesale platform. In plain English, that means the company looking after your account may change, but your actual line should not suddenly stop working because of the transfer.
THE SHORT ANSWER FOR CUSTOMERS
If you are already with Cuckoo, you do not need to panic or cancel anything immediately. Your service is expected to continue while your account moves to Onestream.
The main things to do are simple: watch for official emails or letters, keep your Direct Debit active for now, save your bills and check whether you are still inside your minimum contract term before deciding whether to switch.

WHAT THIS MEANS IF YOU ARE WITH CUCKOO
Cuckoo’s broadband customer base is being acquired by Onestream. As part of the transfer, Cuckoo customer contracts, the Cuckoo brand and the Cuckoo domain are moving to Onestream.
For customers, the important point is that this is mainly an account and provider transfer. Your broadband connection is expected to remain active during the migration period.
- Your broadband should continue: Existing customers are expected to keep receiving service during the migration.
- Your account is moving: Your customer contract is expected to transfer to Onestream.
- Your line should not need a new install: Connections are expected to stay on APFN’s Aquila wholesale platform.
- Cuckoo is no longer taking new customers: New sales stopped from 4pm on 11 May 2026.
- You should wait for official instructions: Do not rely on rumours or cancel payments until you have clear account-specific information.
If your service is working today, the safest first step is to keep it running and wait for the official migration details.
WILL MY BROADBAND SERVICE CHANGE?
There is no reported reason to expect an immediate line change or engineer visit just because your Cuckoo account is moving to Onestream.
Your connection is expected to remain on APFN’s Aquila wholesale platform. That platform brings together access across networks such as Openreach, CityFibre and APFN’s own fibre network. The exact network your home uses depends on your address and how your Cuckoo service was originally supplied.
| QUESTION | CUSTOMER ANSWER | WHAT TO DO |
|---|---|---|
| Will my broadband stop? | Not expected | Keep using your service as normal unless you are told otherwise. |
| Do I need a new router? | Not immediately | Keep your current router connected unless Onestream or Cuckoo gives different instructions. |
| Will an engineer visit? | Not usually needed | Only book or accept an engineer appointment if it comes through an official support channel. |
| Will support change? | Likely over time | Save any new support details sent to you during the migration. |
YOUR BILL, CONTRACT AND PAYMENTS
The most important customer questions are usually about bills, contract length and exit fees. Based on the information available, existing agreements are expected to be honoured during the transition.
| AREA | WHAT IT MEANS | CUSTOMER TIP |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly price | No immediate migration-linked price change has been reported. | Check your next bill and save a copy. |
| Direct Debit | Payment details may be handled differently once your account moves. | Do not cancel your Direct Debit too early unless you have written confirmation. |
| Minimum term | If you are still in contract, you are normally still bound by your minimum term. | Find your contract end date before switching. |
| Out of contract | You can usually switch more freely if your minimum term has ended. | Compare deals before accepting a renewal. |
| Future changes | If terms change later, you should be told before those changes apply. | Read any email from Cuckoo or Onestream carefully. |
If you receive a notice that changes your price, contract terms or service in a way that is materially worse for you, check whether it gives you the right to leave without penalty.
SHOULD YOU SWITCH AWAY?
Not automatically. If your Cuckoo broadband is working well and you are still inside your minimum term, waiting for the migration details is usually the calmest option.
IF YOU ARE HAPPY WITH YOUR SERVICE
Keep using your broadband as normal. Watch for migration emails and check your bills during the handover. There is no need to switch just because the provider name changes.
IF YOU ARE OUT OF CONTRACT
You have more flexibility. Compare broadband deals at your address and check whether another provider offers a better price, faster speed, shorter contract or better router.
IF YOU ARE STILL IN CONTRACT
You would usually need to stay until your minimum term ends unless you are given a penalty-free right to leave. Do not assume the transfer alone automatically cancels your contract.
IF YOUR PRICE OR TERMS CHANGE LATER
Read the notice carefully. If a provider makes a materially detrimental change, customers may be given a window to leave without early termination charges.
CUSTOMER CHECKLIST
Here is what Cuckoo customers should do during the move to Onestream.
- Save all emails: Keep any messages from Cuckoo or Onestream about the transfer.
- Check your contract end date: This tells you whether you can switch freely or may face exit fees.
- Do not cancel your Direct Debit too early: Wait until your account is properly transferred, closed or replaced.
- Take screenshots of your account: Save your current package, price, contract end date and latest bill.
- Run a speed test: Keep a record of your current speed in case performance changes later.
- Compare before renewing: When your current term ends, compare Onestream with other providers available at your address.
- Ask for written confirmation: If support tells you something important, ask for it by email or save the chat transcript.
